Not only did Apple get it wrong with 2.5 being listed in the App Store when it was actually 3.0, but somewhere in between Facebook getting 3.0 to Apple, and the App Store getting it out to consumers, a few bugs hitched a ride and annoyed the hell out of users used to being annoyed.
