I definitely understand the appeal of the iPhone. I would get one myself if they were compatible with Verizon or I was smart enough to hack into the thing and change the configuration. But I don’t know about colleges giving them out for “free.” It’s only a couple hundred bucks but all of these little things add up, the total college package approaches 50k at many schools.
